The university was believed to be founded in MCCVI or (The year of our Lord 1206 Anno Domini) around the time Cambridge was established but not widely accepted as a legitimate university due to the nature of many unproven crypto-creatures studies. Cryptozoology and paranormal studies were the two main areas of study. For centuries Lycanthropy and Vampirism dominated much of the curiosity of students of cryptozoology. The motto for the university is “Mirum scrutari multipliciter, et in studiis manere” which means “Study the Strange and Stay Curious.”
The study of extraterrestrial life was long debated by the two deans of paranormal studies and cryptozoology and included in those areas of study until MCCCXXII or (1322 A.D.) when John Thomson III gave a lecture proposing why UFOlogy should be its own areas of study. It was very compelling but to no avail. It became its own area of study centuries later as more and more sightings and abductions became too overwhelming for the two departments to track and study all sightings and eye witness accounts. Reluctantly because they could not keep up with the responsibilities to document and study UFOlogy, the Third major department UFOlogy was created. The UFOlogy department was unofficially founded in MCDLXXVII or (1477 A.D.) when Alchemist Pointdextor from the order of The Hawk was appointed to oversee it. The motto for UFOlogy is - “i velint credere” or in English “I want to believe”
It wasn’t until 1692 when Ann Pudeator was hanged as a witch in the Salem Witch trials in Massachusetts that it was decided by majority vote to officially found the Supernatural University in1692. This was done as an homage to Ann’s sacrifice and contributions to the advances that are currently studied. To this day the university crest bares the year 1692.
Throughout the centuries more studies of the occult were easily assigned to the three different areas of study until the19th century. At which point Conspiracy Theory became an official part of the university as its own area of study. The adherents to the study of conspiracy theory grew around the time of Jack the Ripper in MDCCCLXXXVIII or (1888 A.D.). Many accused the Illuminati and Stonehenge Cutters of conspiring to keep Jack protected for so many years. The Illuminati Preparatory Academy confirmed, along with the Stonehenge Cutters that they were not involved in supporting and protecting Jack. Shortly thereafter both groups were promptly invited to join the university to spearhead the formation of the Conspiracy Theory area of study. Because all departments encourage the pursuit of knowledge in all areas they decided that even with constant and regular accusations of suspicion from the department that it was still important to unite them to the university.
It wasn’t until MMXIX or (2018 A.D.) that the organizations decided to spread the fields of study to an online platform to reach a wider audience of cryptozoologists who are interested in “studying the strange”. We at the university believe in formal education of the strange and unexplained. We have always been the forerunners that encourage and support all those who seek to investigate and educate others on taboo phenomena that the world at large is afraid to consider. Because of the collective contributions of all departments throughout the years we have proven the existence to the world of a number of creatures. The giant salamanders of Japan, the serpent fish of Mongolia and many others. The advancements in technology such as recording and photography devices have vindicated the Order of the Orient regarding the validity of large sea serpents and giant salamanders. It was these and other events that helped prompt the Deans and Trustees to take the platform online to further the reach of these areas of study. Many remain skeptical but we believe that those who are curious will prevail and we support their pursuit.
